Position Summary:

In this role, you will be working on our Daedex line of products to bring new technology into mission-critical markets like data centers, battery plants, chip manufacturing and more. The purpose of this role is to contribute to the design, development, implementation and ongoing improvement of production lines in an industrial manufacturing environment. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes within the production environment. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing of air handling units, liquid cooling units, sheet metal components, and HVAC assemblies through process optimization, tooling, and layout design. Success in this role is illustrated through the implementation of scalable processes that ensure quality and efficient delivery of product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, and implement manufacturing processes for HVAC and liquid cooling products including coolant distribution units, air handlers, coils, dampers, and sheet metal enclosures.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), PFMEAs, and process documentation.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles to enhance operator experience, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, production, and quality teams to transition new products from concept to full-scale production.
  • Assist with plant layout design and capacity planning.
  • Support and troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to tooling, machinery, materials, and methods.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and assist in selecting, integrating, and maintaining automation systems (e.g., robotic welding, CNC, punch/laser cutting).
  • Ensure scalable production line capacity through process automation. Set up, test, adjust and fully implement automated machinery and material handling systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Train production employees on new processes and equipment.
  • Use CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Radan) to support production needs.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in HVAC or sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience implementing automation and robotics in manufacturing, programming PLCs and robotic systems
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM systems and manufacturing software
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work on the shop floor and interact with production personnel
  • Proven track record of success in an industrial manufacturing environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle)
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and HVAC product compliance
  • Project management experience
  • Change management experience

Key Competencies:

  • Driven self-starter, motivated by helping others to achieve deliverables
