About
Who we are
DaySmart supercharges experienced-based businesses with innovative, industry-specific software services that power customer and revenue growth. With thousands of partners worldwide and dozens of industry awards, we provide best-in-class solutions to accelerate their business.
This role is part of DaySmart's Recreation Business Unit, which is comprised of four DaySmart brands (Dash, Sawyer, TeamUp, and BoxMate) that deliver activity booking software for our customers: sports facilities, children's education business, and group fitness gyms.
About the Role
This will be a remote, US based position working east coast hours alongside a remote team. We're looking for a Visual Designer to help bring our multiple recreation brands to life and better connect with our customers. You'll design across a breadth of channels (websites and landing pages, digital advertising, emails, and more). This role is best suited for a visual thinker, an appreciator of silly gifs, and an organized go-getter who can quickly grasp core messages and bring them to life in creative ways. This role will report to the Director of Creative.
Responsibilities
- Bring DaySmart's recreation brands to life: concept and design landing pages, marketing emails, digital ads, landing pages, blog visuals, and other digital marketing assets and collateral.
- Learn how our products uniquely address the needs of various audiences (businesses and their end-customers across several industries) and leverage these insights in your work.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to implement each brand's vision and style with clarity and consistency across all channels.
- Proactively and clearly communicate your ideas and design decisions to the team
- Effectively leverage our ESPs (Mailchimp, Pardot) to create email campaigns using best practices while maintaining a high quality of design.
- Source, edit, and optimize photography that fits within brand guidelines.
- Use and build brand and campaign templates for creative production across channels.
- Work with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams on ongoing product education and feature launches.
- Work with the Marketing and Data teams to test, analyze, and optimize designs.
- Assist in building and designing pages in Figma and Webflow.
- Juggle several different projects with good intuition about when to create pixel-perfect designs vs. taking a low-lift approach.
- Follow and build upon brand guidelines, helping to create and organize the visual language of our brands and maintain our asset libraries in Figma.
- Incorporate and edit existing brand assets (illustrations, icons, etc) for use in designs.
Requirements
- You're passionate and curious about creating quality, compelling, and unique design work, and are open to feedback to help make the things you create even better.
- You have a demonstrable understanding of design fundamentals with exceptional attention to detail in typography, color usage, composition, and layout.
- Expertise in using Figma as well as Illustrator and Photoshop
- You have experience designing responsive websites, preferably using Webflow
- You have experience designing digital ads across a variety of channels
- You have a portfolio demonstrating your conceptual design thinking and execution across various digital platforms and channels.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn design best practices for increased quality, accessibility, engagement, and conversion.
- You're a collaborator, willing to share your process and work-in-progress with the team – and to accept feedback and incorporate insights into your designs.
- Be a good human. We are a thoughtful, honest, and kind team with a healthy sense of humor.
A little more about you
- 3+ years of brand/visual design experience with a focus in digital marketing or advertising.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design related discipline such as graphic design, visual communications, or interaction design.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Highly organized; able to balance priorities and work efficiently with focus. We believe in getting work done without micromanaging anyone.
- You're no stranger to a modern work environment and are comfortable with tools like Slack, Dropbox, Notion, and Microsoft 365 or Google Workplace
- You're ready to step up when it comes to seeing through a project: from sharing your notes to following up on unanswered questions.
- You have high standards for your work and thrive on a team that shares ideas and continually seeks opportunities to raise the bar.
Nice to have
- Animation and/or Motion design skills
- Video editing experience
- Foundational understanding of how websites are built (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
- Ability to create illustrations in a brand illustration style
- Familiarity with After Effects, InDesign, Zeplin, Lightroom
Please note: Applications without links to a portfolio will not be considered.
