Job Description The Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical, research, teaching, and administrative functions at Marcus Autism Center. This role will work closely with Financial, Clinical, Care Coordination, Research, and Teaching leaders across Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality patient care, transformational research, and interdisciplinary education that benefits the children and families we serve.

Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing and proactively managing day-to-day operations, business processes, and facilities for clinical, research, educational, and administrative activities.

Leading and contributing to the development of the Marcus Autism Center Strategic Plan and driving its implementation.

Ensuring optimal operational efficiency, financial performance, customer service, and clinical and research outcomes.

Serving as the primary business operations liaison for shared services between Marcus Autism Center, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Emory University.

Experience

10 years management experience within a physician practice operation

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or MHA

Five years academic work experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration, or related discipline

Strong command of the principles associated with financial analysis, physician practice operations, research operations, healthcare information systems, and technologies

Strong command of facility operations (maintenance, space management, security, and parking solutions)

Demonstrated ability to work with academic partners to achieve collective goals

Demonstrated ability to partner with support service areas (IS&T, Facilities, HR, Finance, Legal, Research and Academics, etc.) to ensure effective maintenance of operations

Demonstrated skills and aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, staff development and time management

Demonstrated ability to work with Board level leadership

Demonstrated ability to successfully influence and effectively communicate

Job Responsibilities

Establishes, coordinates, and maintains all clinical, research, teaching, and administrative operations for the Marcus Autism Center in partnership with program leaders, to promote and support the following: provision of quality health care, research, teaching, and training, innovation, and transformation, business development, growth, and expansion, fiscal management, and accountability, effective allocation of resources including workforce utilization, strategic planning and development, customer orientation and satisfaction, donor stewardship, community engagement

Leads and oversees key operational functions to support the clinical, research, training, and administrative activities at Marcus Autism Center, including Practice Management: operational oversight of clinical/medical practices and personnel, Research Management: operational oversight of research activities and personnel, oversee grant activities in collaboration with appropriate departments, support regulatory/IRB compliance, support effort reporting and certification activities, Patient Access: intake, scheduling, registration, front desk operations, Patient Financial Services: revenue cycle activities, coding, billing and collections, denial analysis and management, Contracting: support contracting for managed care, governmental agencies and payors, vendors, and schools, Space and Facilities: space plan development, parking plan, facilities management, and oversight, Quality and Safety: security oversight, emergency management and planning, clinical and research quality outcomes support, staff safety support, employee health support, Customer Experience: crafting engaging customer experiences, fielding customer inquiries, Provider Relations and Engagement: provider onboarding, relationship building, conflict resolution support, Budgeting and Financial Oversight: develop budgets, manage performance to budget, Operational analysis: productivity measurement and reporting, analysis of growth opportunities, proforma development and support, Human Resources: optimizing staff deployment, aligning expertise to roles, Community Engagement: donor, legislative and community presentations and tours, fundraising support.

Directs team of managers in the provision of operational activities in successful collaboration with clinical, research and training leaders.

Grows and develops management and leadership talent.

Builds high performing management team.

Analyzes, monitors, and manages operational and financial goals and indicators for Marcus Autism Center to drive operational results.

Monitors and reports critical operational success factors, including financial indicators, census and volumes, customer service and satisfaction metrics, utilization trending, referral patterns, and other operational reporting as defined.

Develops and implements plans to achieve performance goals and targets.

Ensures compliance with Children's and Emory policies and guidelines as well as local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Liaises with system resources and contacts for all operational, research and financial issues related to Marcus Autism Center with the following areas: Children's Physician Group, Children's Research Administration, Physician Financial Services and Patient Accounts, Patient Experience and Patient Access, Managed Care, Legal, Health Information Services, Facilities, Purchasing, Human Resources, Emory Department of Pediatrics, Emory School of Medicine, and other service line and departmental leaders.
