About
About Continuous Composites
Continuous Composites is a leading-edge supplier of carbon fiber aerospace components and advanced additive manufacturing equipment. We specialize in continuous fiber composite technologies that enable snap-cure and fully cured structures for high-performance applications. Our work is highly R&D-focused and frequently supports defense-related programs that require care, discretion, and high execution standards.
We are seeking a Project Manager who can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex technical programs—someone who enables engineering teams to do their best work while keeping projects aligned, supported, and moving forward.
How You'll Make a Difference
As a Project Manager at Continuous Composites, you will lead multiple cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and deliver advanced composite R&D programs from concept through execution.
You will work closely with engineers and technical staff—providing clear plans, removing blockers, aligning stakeholders, and managing risk—while allowing subject matter experts the space to focus on solving challenging technical problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution for two or more concurrent technical programs, from early concept definition through prototype delivery and project closeout.
- Facilitate effective project kickoffs that establish clear objectives, requirements, risks, and success criteria, resulting in actionable execution plans.
- Develop and manage integrated project schedules, identifying dependencies, tradeoffs, and critical path items to maintain forward progress.
- Actively manage risk and uncertainty, creating mitigation plans, resolving blockers, and adapting plans as technical realities evolve.
- Own client and sponsor-facing coordination and communication, coordinating with both internal and external customers (including DoD stakeholders and prime contractors) to understand requirements, deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations, and provide clear, timely progress updates, milestone reviews, and status briefings.
- Handle sensitive program information and materials with care including DoD compliance, ensuring appropriate discretion and adherence to customer expectations associated with defense-related work including understanding DoD rules & regulations.
- Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, technicians, leadership, and customer representatives, to maintain alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and workflows to support a growing R&D organization.
- Communicate transparently and create accountability, about project plans, roles, status, risks, tasks, and challenges, including when plans need to change while allowing engineers to focus on technical execution.
What You Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a technical field—or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of project management experience in a high-standard, execution-driven industry such as manufacturing, technology, aerospace, defense, healthcare, or similar environments.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, technical projects with evolving requirements.
- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in stakeholder-facing settings.
- Experience using common project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Excel, Earned Value Management, or similar systems).
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where learning and adaptation are expected.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting defense-related or other sensitive programs requiring disciplined handling of information and materials.
- Exposure to aerospace, composites, advanced manufacturing, or other highly technical engineering domains.
- Experience managing R&D or prototype-driven projects where scope and approach evolve over time.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
What We Offer
- High ownership and autonomy—you'll be trusted to lead programs, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive real outcomes.
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Opportunities for professional development in a cutting-edge composites and additive manufacturing environment.
- A collaborative, technically driven culture focused on solving challenging problems.
