About the role

Crunchyroll is growing fast, creating new opportunities and technical challenges as we bring the magic of anime to millions of fans around the world. The Reliability Engineering team sits at the heart of that mission, ensuring every Crunchyroll experience on devices is seamless, stable, and worthy of our passionate audience.

As part of this dynamic team, you'll play a key role in shaping the quality of the Crunchyroll app across a landscape of devices. You'll leverage cutting-edge automation, data analysis, and observability tools to deliver reliability at massive scale and push the limits of what's possible in multi-platform testing. We're looking for a creative, highly motivated engineer who thrives on complex challenges and is excited to help define the future of device reliability at Crunchyroll.

You will:

  • Tackle a uniquely complex device ecosystem. Crunchyroll reaches fans on a large range of TVs, consoles, and partner platforms—each with its own architecture and challenges. You'll design automation that delivers a consistently exceptional experience across this diverse landscape.
  • Engineer for scale and reliability. Build robust, intelligent automated test systems and tools that power fast, reliable releases for millions of users around the world.
  • Collaborate across disciplines. Partner with engineers, product teams, and external partners to integrate, validate, and optimize the Crunchyroll experience on every device.
  • Shape the future of quality. Influence technical direction and champion a culture of excellence in code health, test strategy, and automation—leading by example, not by process.
  • Empower the community. Share insights, tools, and frameworks that elevate the entire engineering ecosystem and help fans everywhere enjoy anime the way it's meant to be experienced.
