About
Pharmaceutical Technician I plays a key role in supporting daily production operations under the direction of the Pharmaceuticals Supervisor. This position is responsible for equipment setup, cleaning, and operation within liquid, powder, and tablet manufacturing areas. The role requires strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Equipment Maintenance (45%)
- Assemble, disassemble, clean, and operate production equipment, including blenders, granulators, tablet presses, filling lines, and blister packaging machines.
- Manufacturing Area Preparation (30%)
- Clean and disinfect manufacturing areas.
- Manage material movement and ensure proper equipment setup across multiple production zones.
- Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (20%)
- Mix, blend, compress, and package pharmaceutical products.
- Prepare finished goods for shipment in accordance with quality standards.
- Other Duties (5%)
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
High school diploma or GED required.
- Six months of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, perform basic math calculations, and operate production equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Skills & Abilities
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet applications, and email.
- Effective communication skills and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, push/pull up to 100 lbs, and lift 40 lbs overhead.
- Work in confined spaces and maintain physical activity such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and sitting for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive motions and climb ladders or steps regularly.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain focus during repetitive tasks.
Work Environment
- Typical manufacturing environment with exposure to hazardous materials, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
