About

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for ensuring that all procedures take place in a proper and efficient manner. They are to ensure that all equipment is prepared, and that the procedure meets all established quality control standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensures that infection control procedures are followed and quality control standards are met
• Prepares room and equipment for stereotactic biopsies and other procedures
• Prepares/maintains all paperwork, x-rays, and charts related to completed procedure
• Positions patients and operates equipment to produce most reliable data
• Performs preliminary x-rays of patients
• May function under surgeons' directions as assistant and mammographer during surgical procedures
• Conducts post procedure cleaning of room. Restocks all supplies and verifies the proper placement and operation of all equipment
• Follows preventative maintenance procedures for equipment used
• Performs all other duties as assigned
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that may be faced by a Mammography Technologist throughout their scope of employment. To conduct this position properly, applicants must be able to complete the following list of physical tasks.
• Sitting, standing, walking for brief periods of time
• Light lifting, possibly up to weights of 30 pounds
• Bending and reaching Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school and ability to meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
• Registered mammography tech.
• Prefer one plus years of experience in a medical radiology setting
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skill
