We are seeking a reliable and efficient Receiving Clerk for our Chicago, Illinois warehouse. This role is essential for managing the inflow of goods into our facility, ensuring accuracy and proper handling from the moment they arrive. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading trucks, verifying incoming inventory against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately documenting all received items. This is a key position within our logistics network, requiring a sharp eye for detail and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive in resolving discrepancies and ensuring that all products are properly recorded in our system. The role involves physical activity, such as standing, walking, and performing tasks that require manual lifting and moving of items, generally up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Accurately check and count all items received against corresponding purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect all goods for damage, shortages, or defects, reporting any issues immediately.
- Enter received inventory data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) with precision.
- Tag and stage received products appropriately for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts safely (certification may be required).
- Wear all designated PPE throughout the shift.
- Perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy lifting .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role or similar capacity is preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent lifting and manual handling of goods up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in verification and data entry.
- Basic computer literacy; experience with WMS is a plus.
- Understanding of basic logistics and warehouse receiving procedures.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE .
