About
We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Specialist at our distribution center in Provo, Utah. This role is fundamental to the efficiency of our logistics operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our vast inventory. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective inventory control systems, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. You will work closely with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to ensure all inventory data is accurate and up-to-date in our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. The ideal candidate will understand inventory best practices within a busy logistics environment. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. While the role focuses on data management, occasional involvement in physical inventory tasks, including lifting, may be required. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain accuracy of inventory records in the WMS.
- Develop and refine inventory control procedures to minimize loss and improve efficiency.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with receiving, putaway, and shipping teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FEFO, FIFO) to optimize product freshness.
- Generate inventory reports for management review.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of inventory to maintain accuracy and safety.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist in training new team members on inventory control procedures.
- Support overall logistics efficiency through accurate inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform occasional physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comprehensive understanding of warehouse safety standards and PPE usage.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
