About
We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is vital for the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring that all materials are moved, organized, and ready for use or shipment. You will be operating machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks to transport goods throughout the facility. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections of material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, preferably with forklift operation.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs on a regular basis.
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Requirements: Employees must wear provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, vests, and glasses. This role demands significant physical effort, including frequent and heavy Lifting. Understanding of Logistics principles and efficient material flow is key.
