Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position of Business Development Manager Business Development Manager Location: Sheffield / Hybrid with UK Travel Salary: £35,000 – £44,000 DOE + car allowance + commission/bonus Reporting to: Managing Director Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday) Are you looking for your next step in sales? Our client is a UK-based specialist in the design, manufacture, installation and refurbishment of outdoor sports and play facilities, including Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs), skate parks, playground equipment, street furniture and youth shelters. They work with local authorities, schools, universities, housing developers and contractors, delivering high-quality, durable solutions across the UK. They are now looking for a Business Development Manager with fresh ideas who can drive growth, build on existing relationships, unlock new markets and help deliver ambitious but achievable sales growth plans. Longer term, this role has the potential to grow into the development and leadership of a sales team. The Role You will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across the UK, while working closely with internal teams to ensure commercially viable and deliverable solutions. Key responsibilities include: * Identifying and winning new business opportunities (e.g. local authorities, schools, developers, architectural practices) * Managing the full business development lifecycle: market intelligence, lead generation, proposal and pitch development, contract negotiation and securing the win * Building and nurturing long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers * Exploring and developing new sectors and routes to market * Developing compelling, value-led commercial propositions using a consultative sales approach * Working closely with design, fabrication, installation and project management teams to ensure smooth handover from sale to delivery * Monitoring and reporting on business development performance and feeding market insights into strategy * Representing the business at industry events, conferences, frameworks and client meetings Person Specification Essential: * Proven track record of success in a B2B business development or account management role * Strong commercial acumen with experience managing full sales cycles and negotiating contracts * Experience selling a manufactured product and managing large local authority or commercial accounts * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders * A relationship builder with a collaborative, consultative sales style * Strategic yet hands-on mindset, comfortable developing new markets and driving deals through to completion * Self-motivated and proactive, able to manage time, priorities and targets independently * Willingness to travel across the UK Desirable: * Understanding of public sector procurement processes (local authorities, schools, councils) * Experience in a project-led environment involving specification, manufacturing and installation * Technical sales background * Interest in outdoor, leisure, sport or play sectors What’s on Offer * Basic salary of £35,000 – £44,000 DOE * Car allowance * Commission/bonus structure based on new business targets * OTE in the region of £40,000 – £50,000, depending on experience and performance * Full-time, permanent position * Hybrid working with a Sheffield base and UK travel
