About
Performs intermediate to advanced levels of BIM modeling, coordination and design drafting. The Senior BIM Technician is the Structural BIM lead on projects, proactively collaborates with the engineers and design team to coordinate and develop the design and is responsible for BIM coordination and model quality.
Reports To: BIM Technical Manager
Job Responsibilities
• Prepares complex BIM models and 2D/3D planwork, including sheet layouts.
• Produces structural detailing using conventional drafting standards for construction drawings.
• Creates final deliverables per client requirements. (File uploads, Printing, etc.)
• Leads model development and manages the integrity of the file, including but not limited to:
o Coordinates BIM assemblies, elements, and interfaces.
o Identifies constructability issues and incompleteness in BIM models
o Adheres to client standards and expectations at regular intervals.
• Communicates any discrepancy or issue to the Project Engineer for resolution.
• Participates in project coordination with the Engineer and other disciplines.
• Attends BIM coordination and design meetings prepared to collaborate with other consultants. Prioritizes action items and reports updates to the internal project team.
• Performs quality control activities to assist the BIM Manager and Project Engineer. Participate in clash detection with other consultants and/or contractors.
• Incorporates company drawing and BIM standards in project work.
• Communicates and collaborates with the Project Engineer to understand and implement project plans, workflows, deliverables, and schedules.
• Assists other team members with execution of project tasks and deliverables to meet project deadlines.
• Provide miscellaneous BIM support to the engineering/design team, such as coordination/working views, 3D views, sections, etc. to assist with engineering work and coordination.
• Actively participates in internal BIM workshops and provide input on standards and processes.
• Supervises and directs work to BIM Technicians.
Requirements
Qualifications
• High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Vocational/Technical Certification preferred. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering a plus.
• Proficient in Revit. Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Bluebeam. Knowledge in structural detailing software (TEKLA, SDS/2, etc.) a plus.
• Four to six years' experience in BIM or Structural Drafting with proficiency in the following areas:
o Construction drawing layout, project documentation and detailing.
o Design/construction principles, methods and terminology.
o Project coordination and communication.
o LOD matrix and BIM workflows.
o Quality control.
o And knowledge in the following areas:
o Project setup and project planning.
o BIM execution plans and data management.
o Clash detection and model health.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
• Self-motivated and innovative with a strong work ethic and keen interest in design.
• Ability to exercise attention to detail, strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Resourcefulness and willingness to troubleshoot software when necessary.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Salary Description
$95,000-$105,000
