Litigation Secretary - Employment Law
San Diego, CA | Full-Time | Hybrid
Practice Area: Employment Law
Hourly Rate: $48.00 - $52.00
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
A top-tier international labor and employment law firm - is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to join our San Diego team. This is a full-time hybrid position supporting our attorneys in delivering outstanding service to clients.
Top 3 Priorities for the Role
  1. Litigation Experience: At least 4 years in state and federal civil litigation (employment law preferred, but not required).
  2. Adaptability: Must be flexible and able to quickly adjust to internal systems and processes.
  3. Attention to Detail: Accuracy in document preparation, filing, and calendaring is critical.
Key Responsibilities
  • Format and proofread legal documents including briefs, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • E-file documents with state and federal courts.
  • Manage attorney calendars using Outlook and CompuLaw.
  • Maintain and organize client files and case records.
  • Coordinate attorney travel and handle reimbursements.
  • Prepare and revise time entries and billing details.
  • Handle vendor invoices and check requests.
  • Provide phone and occasional front desk support.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 5+ years as a legal secretary, including litigation experience.
  • Familiarity with Lexis Nexis, PACER, ECF, iManage (or equivalent), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, CompuLaw. Aderant experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with general office equipment and legal billing practices.
