About the Role:
We're looking for an AI Ethics Specialist to help shape and enforce responsible AI development and deployment across our organization. In this role, you'll work cross-functionally with data science, engineering, legal, and compliance teams to ensure our AI systems align with ethical, legal, and societal standards. You'll play a key role in building frameworks that reduce bias, promote fairness, and increase transparency in our machine learning models and automated decision-making systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ethical frameworks and guidelines for AI systems.
- Conduct impact assessments to identify potential risks related to fairness, accountability, transparency, and bias.
- Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to ensure ethical principles are integrated into the AI lifecycle-from design to deployment.
- Review and audit AI models for compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, AIDA, EU AI Act).
- Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on responsible AI practices.
- Stay current on global AI ethics trends, laws, and regulatory developments.
- Draft clear documentation and contribute to public-facing reports or explainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Data Science, Law, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with or analyzing machine learning/AI systems.
- Knowledge of privacy, algorithmic bias, fairness metrics, and transparency standards.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks around data and AI is a plus.
- Certifications or coursework in AI ethics or responsible AI practices is a bonus.
Preferred Tools/Skills:
- Familiarity with Python, Jupyter, or ML audit tools (e.g., IBM AI Fairness 360, Google What-If Tool).
- Understanding of ethical risk scoring or model interpretability methods (e.g., SHAP, LIME).
- Legal or policy background in AI-related regulations is a plus.
