JOB TITLE: Porter/Material Handler #2

FUNCTION: Responsible for all raw material coordination for various departments across multiple storage warehouses. Operates forklift and company pickup truck to complete various job duties. Supports all departments for material and runs errands for departments as needed. Collects trash and recycling of production scrap. Primarily responsible for snow removal, which is shared with the Maintenance Department. Performs minor facility maintenance.

JOB DUTIES:

1.Inspects and safely operates company vehicles which include pickup truck, standing forklift, and sit down forklift. Safely transports materials to and from the company's storage facilities using company vehicles. Ensures that materials and pallets are properly and safely strapped down and secured for transportation.

2.Raw Materials: Coordinates raw material needs with various departments. Loads and unloads raw materials safely using forklifts. Weighs raw materials as required. Uses a tablet to record raw material transactions. Conducts raw material cycle counting.

3.Organizes, cleans, and maintains raw material storage areas. This includes the Almetek staging area, Lordon storage area, Almetek warehouse, and EZ Storage units. Fills racking systems and storage units according to capacity. Maintains wood pallet storage area, ensuring pallets meet company specifications.

4.Monitors and maintains scrap gaylords. Moves full gaylords and scrap barrels to scrap trailer and replaces them with empty ones.

5.Garbage/Recycling: Collects garbage and places it in the outside dumpster. Disposes of flammable containers daily from the Screen Print department. Manages cardboard compactor and makes bails for recycling. Takes garbage to town dump when directed.

6.Uses company pick up truck to deliver/pickup product within the tri-state area. Runs various errands to stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart etc.

7.Assists Maintenance Department with minor duties as required.

8.Assists in snow removal and outside maintenance tasks as required, including salting, shoveling, plowing, snow/leaf blowing, ensuring dumpster/loading dock/disposal area is kept organized and clean. Sweeps factory floor in warehouse area.

9.Assists in the production process as needed. Helps pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment as instructed.

10.Miscellaneous tasks as required and deemed necessary by Production Control, Maintenance Supervisor, and Management.

11.This position may require more than 40 hours per week based on the workload.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.Must be able to perform the mental and physical aspects of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, bending, reaching, carrying, twisting, gross and fine manipulation, driving, exposure to loud noises/oil/fumes, and heavy lifting in excess of 50 lbs.

2.Exposure to hot and cold climates, inside and outside. Works outdoors and therefore is subject to outdoor elements (rain, ice, cold, heat and humidity etc.)

3.Must successfully pass forklift certification tests and maintain driver's license in good standing as a condition of employment.

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
