Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive sales performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, management, and organizational skills, with a background in retail management and team supervision. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing store operations, including inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to ensure an attractive and organized store layout.
- Supervise and motivate staff through effective training & development, employee orientation, and performance management.
- Oversee sales activities, including retail math calculations, pricing strategies, and sales management to meet or exceed targets.
- Handle customer service issues with professionalism, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
- Manage cashiering functions such as cash handling, POS transactions, and shift management to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate purchasing and inventory management processes to optimize stock levels and reduce shrinkage.
- Conduct interviewing and recruiting of new team members to build a competent workforce aligned with store goals.
- Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic and sales.
- Maintain effective communication with staff regarding policies, procedures, and store updates.
- Support budgeting efforts and assist in administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and payroll processing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively across shifts.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Proficiency in POS systems, retail math, inventory management software, and general cashiering functions.
- Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing techniques, and store presentation standards.
- Demonstrated ability in employee orientation, training & development, interviewing, recruiting, and performance evaluation.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control, stock stocking, and administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and payroll.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries professionally via phone etiquette or in person while maintaining high service standards.
- Strong time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively within a fast-paced retail environment.
