The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $134,080-$167,600
Position Overview:
Duties - Risk Reporting
- Produce daily MtM valuation report of all company generation assets
- Daily monitoring of company positions and trading activity to monitor compliance with company Risk Policies and Risk Procedures
- Document adherence to various financial, delegations of authority, and trade controls
- Produce daily Gross Margin Report that shows month-to-date gross margin earnings compared to budget.
- Produce weekly Gross Margin Report that shows week-over-week change
- Perform business controls for locking trades, reconciliation against clearing broker data, and Delegations of Authority
Duties - Other
- Evaluate, develop, and implement process improvements and enhancements to optimize and strengthen controls and analytical capabilities
- Work very closely with Front Office, Compliance, and Information Technology groups to ensure that all relevant and required risk analysis products and services are available and continually refined
- Analyze & identify discrepancies between large volumes of data from various sources within the company
- Communicate process improvements and data anomalies to stakeholders/management
- Work with other groups to solve complex problems by designing or developing tools to deal with large amounts of data
- Collaborate and build relationships with IT, Legal, Asset Management, trading support, Accounting, etc. in order to meet deliverables
- Maintain a functional system for archiving filed data for easy retrieval
- Create ad hoc reports / data sets as assigned
- As time allows: Assist other business areas in report creation, report troubleshooting, and data retrieval
- Other projects/duties as assigned
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher
Required: 10+ years of related experience in energy industry
Skills / Abilities Required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: Power Query, Power Query M formula language, formulas, macros, pivot tables, ranges, tables
- Experience working with VBA, Power Query M formula language, SQL, database tools (Toad, SQL Developer)
- Ability to work independently, working through difficult reconciliation issues to their ultimate source/cause, and finding an appropriate solution
- Ability to gather, consolidate, analyze and report data accurately and efficiently
- Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving
- Capacity to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, solve complex problems and work under pressure
- Ability to work with other departments with different perspectives on reporting issues
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact with other parts of the business at all levels
- Ability to work within a team environment
Skills / Abilities Desired
- Familiarity/ prior experience with FIS Aligne, webTrader, Paragon
