We are seeking a motivated Order Picker to join our expanding logistics facility in Richmond, Virginia. This position plays a vital role in our order fulfillment process, ensuring that our customers receive exactly what they ordered, accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for retrieving items from warehouse shelves, verifying quantities and product details, and preparing them for the next stage of the shipping process. We are looking for individuals who are meticulous, efficient, and dedicated to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Understanding the flow of goods within a logistics operation is crucial for success in this role. Safety is our top priority.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately retrieve specified items from warehouse storage locations according to order sheets or RF scanner prompts.
- Verify the correctness of items, quantities, and product codes picked to ensure order accuracy.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage during the picking and transportation process.
- Transport picked orders to designated packing or staging areas within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free, and safe workspace at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock checks, as needed.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety hazards to supervision promptly.
- Support the broader logistics team with other warehouse functions as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in order picking or a similar warehouse role is a strong asset.
- Capable of lifting items up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to interpret and follow written and digital instructions.
- Must be physically capable of standing, walking, and bending for prolonged periods.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Awareness of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Understanding of fundamental logistics operations.
