We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This management position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including staff management, workflow optimization, inventory control, and ensuring adherence to stringent safety standards. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be instrumental in driving productivity, maintaining a positive work environment, and ensuring the efficient execution of all logistics processes. Your leadership will guide the team in safely handling materials, managing incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintaining the integrity of our inventory. A strong focus on safety is paramount, and you will be responsible for enforcing policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and conducting regular safety training. This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will work closely with management to achieve operational goals and contribute to the continuous improvement of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff.
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping.
- Ensure efficient inventory management and accuracy.
- Implement and enforce all safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with other departments and external logistics partners.
- Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory control principles.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including PPE.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS).
