About
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our operations in Chicago, Illinois. This leadership position requires a proactive individual with a proven track record in warehouse management, logistics, and team supervision. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to safety standards. You will manage a team, optimize workflows, and contribute to the overall success of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance.
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve high levels of performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse strategies and procedures to optimize space utilization and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety awareness and enforcing the use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- Manage inventory control, including cycle counts, stocktaking, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as transportation and customer service, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Handle employee relations issues, performance management, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities and prepare regular reports for management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices, including manual handling and PPE requirements.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials, up to 50 lbs, when necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
