Key Responsibilities: Adhere to established phlebotomy procedures for patient sample collection. Ensure proper patient identification in line with AHA's policies before drawing blood. Maintain accurate labeling and requisition for all specimens before transport. Uphold AHA's confidentiality policy regarding Protected Health Information (PHI). Exhibit a positive attitude and commitment to patient and staff safety during time-sensitive procedures. Understand and inform patients about their rights and the option to refuse care. Effectively draw blood from patients under various conditions. Collaborate seamlessly with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments. Utilize medical terminology appropriately within laboratory settings. Ensure proper specimen preservation and adequate patient preparation. Work independently and accurately manage time sheets. Maintain all phlebotomy equipment in optimal condition and report any issues promptly. Respond promptly to all calls from the company-issued mobile device, and always check in/out of client facilities. Submit logs, time sheets, and other documentation accurately and on time. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience is necessary. Must possess a valid state-issued Driver's License and be at least 21 years old. Clean driving record for the past 5 years and reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance (100/300/100). Criminal history check required for patient care roles; some states may require fingerprinting. Pursuing or possessing a Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited institution is preferred. For home draws, a minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience is required, along with additional credentialing. A strong commitment to safety and customer service is essential.
