We are looking for an RF Design engineer with proven hands-on design experience for cutting edge defence products. You will work on the research, design and testing of RF technology for integration into our complex weapons systems, focusing on hands-on modifications or rapid prototypes where required. A team player who can use initiative with a passion for electronic engineering. Comfortable carrying out hands-on testing and modifications to boards with a strong background in RF design. What we're looking for
Proven practical RF (component-level) design and testing across a wide frequency range (e.g., 30 MHz to 30 GHz), including LNA, High Power Amplifier, filter, local oscillator, synthesiser, modulator design RF design experience for harsh environments (EMC, vibration, thermal) Ability to perform design proving tests and trials in the onsite laboratory Excellent practical skills including soldering, fault finding and use of RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, VNAs) Good knowledge of digital, analogue and power supply design Experience with RF design tools (e.g., Microwave Office) including layout Manufacturing techniques and design for manufacture and test Strong communication, presentation and report writing skills to convey problems, solutions and results Company
