Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all outputs meet their established quality criteria and anticipated completion dates while maintaining a safe working environment. This position also works with supporting departments to proactively address barriers that may cause product quality issues, machine inefficiency, or scheduling deviations.
ShiftFirst Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday, or as job responsibilities require
Essential Functions- Ensure operator safety by regularly auditing machines and processes and taking immediate action to remedy any situation that may result in injury
- Ensure that operators are fully trained for all processes for which they are responsible
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
- Author and conduct employee annual performance reviews and progressive disciplinary actions
- Work with the Production Manager, Production Scheduler, and others to determine the most beneficial production and crewing schedule
- Provide feedback to the Production Manager regarding potential product and/or process improvements
- Actively engage in continuous improvement activities (RCPS, DMAIC), to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
- Establish, implement, and ensure compliance to SOP's to guarantee that all products meet established quality criteria
- Ensure compliance with all Quality and Safety standards and policies
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a related role
- Experience in a leadership position
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably in the food industry
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Knowledge of common business systems
