About this job:
The Human Resource (HR) Data Technician facilitates the new hire, job and employee information change process for employees. Ensures accuracy, timely processing and compliance related to all new employee documentation and processes.  Inputs, maintains, and/or retrieves information related to various employee change actions into human resource systems including but not limited to hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations in a timely manner; reviews information for accuracy and completeness; requests clarification, corrections, authorizations or additional information if necessary.

What You'll Do:

  • Enter new hire and employee change transactions including transfers, promotions or add work assignments in a high volume data management environment; audit employee information for accuracy prior to submission.

  • Review and approve manager initiated changes such as terminations, pay rate changes, or supervisor changes.

  • Provides exceptional customer service to new employees, managers and internal customers; ensure information provided is complete, accurate and timely and within established service level agreements.

  • Receive and enter benefit change information such as qualifying life events and 401(k) deduction changes into Lawson.

  • Review and verify incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Research and resolve data and system discrepancies, primarily associated with payroll errors. Determine root cause, recommend solution and communicate status of issues to customers.

  • Receive Teacher advanced degree and Special Service Provider advanced license information; review and verify credentials and transcripts; enter degree and license information into human resources system; determine pay increase based on contract schedules resulting for degree and license; communicate information to payroll for processing.

  • Generate and submit bi-monthly new hire reporting as required by the State of Colorado.

  • Review criminal background check results and determine whether information meets acceptable guidelines or if escalation is required..

  • Cross train and perform the Position Management Specialist role when needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field is preferred. 
  • Two (2) years Human Resource (HR) system, HR data processing or payroll preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with complex HRIS software; Oracle highly preferred. 
  • Skills required to communicate diplomatically, persuasively, effectively (oral and written). 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity when handling sensitive and confidential documents and information. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other HR Departments Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
