This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, supporting commissioning activities, and optimizing automated manufacturing processes—particularly within powertrain environments (engine, transmission, e-drive, machining, assembly).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and optimize PLC programs using Siemens platforms (S7-300/400/1200/1500).
  • Configure and troubleshoot automation systems using TIA Portal and Step7.
  • Design and validate safety logic, including F-blocks, safety I/O, and safe motion functions.
  • Integrate and configure industrial networks: Profinet, Profibus, IO-Link, ProfiSafe.
  • Commission servo drives, VFDs, motion systems, and axis control.
  • Develop HMI applications (WinCC, Comfort, Advanced, Unified), including screens, alarms, and tag structures.
  • Perform diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions on controls-related issues.
  • Support installation, startup, and optimization of automated machinery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide technical support during production.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in industrial automation and advanced controls engineering.
  • Proven experience in powertrain manufacturing (engine, transmission, e-drive, machining, assembly).
  • Expert knowledge of Siemens PLCs: S7-300/400/1200/1500.
  • Strong programming skills in AWL, SCL, Ladder Logic, and Graph/Grafcet.
  • Advanced data handling experience (UDTs, DBs, pointers, indirect addressing).
  • Experience with safety systems and functional safety standards.
  • Proficiency in configuring and diagnosing industrial communication networks.
  • Hands-on experience with servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems.
  • Familiarity with machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence) and TOX press systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.

Key Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
