Position Summary
Due to organizational growth, we are seeking an experienced Development Associate to support fundraising, donor relations, and the administrative activities of the nonprofit's Development Department. This role plays a key part in grant administration, maintaining donor data, coordinating fundraising campaigns, and ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about organizational success.
Location: Our office is in downtown Dayton along the river, offering a vibrant setting and strong sense of community.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database
· Process donations and prepare timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts.
· Draft donor emails, thank-you letters, and other donor-facing communications.
· Generate reports on fundraising progress, donor retention, and development metrics.
· Support grant processes by gathering data, documents, and background information.
· Prepare and organize grant documentation paperwork. The right candidate will be responsible for extensive final reporting on all grants awarded to the organization.
· Provide support for fundraising events, galas, donor receptions, and community engagement activities.
· Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, monthly giving programs, and online fundraising efforts.
· Provide general administrative assistance to the Development team, including meetings, filing, and document management.
· Collaborate with staff across the organization to gather stories and program data
· Uphold confidentiality of donor and organizational information.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor databases, preferably Blackbaud/eTapestry.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
· Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship principles.
· Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38, $42,000.00 per year
