Applications Solutions Architect Location:
Remote (with occasional visits to HSL Compliance offices) Salary:
£65,000 – £70,000 per annum + Benefits Reports to:
Head of IT / Technology Director HSL Compliance is looking for a strategic and hands-on Applications Solutions Architect to lead the evolution of our software landscape. This is a pivotal role designed for a seasoned professional who bridges the gap between complex business requirements and high-performing technical solutions. You will be the architect of our digital future, ensuring our application stack—centered heavily on the Microsoft Ecosystem—is scalable, integrated, and aligned with our long-term business goals. This role requires a blend of high-level architectural design, stakeholder management, and a proven track record of leading technical teams. Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Strategy:
Lead the architectural design of business applications, ensuring they are robust, secure, and meet the specific needs of HSL Compliance operations. Business Engagement:
Act as a key partner to department heads to capture requirements, translate business "pains" into technical "gains," and ensure the delivered solutions provide genuine ROI. Microsoft Stack Ownership:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for
Dynamics 365 Business Central ,
Power Platform
(Apps, Automate, Pages), and
Power BI . Line Management:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for a small team of developers/analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Vendor & Project Oversight:
Manage relationships with external software partners and oversee the end-to-end delivery of application projects. Data & Insights:
Ensure data integrity across platforms and champion the use of Power BI to drive data-led decision-making throughout the company. The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has "been there and done it"—perhaps as a Solutions Architect or a Head of Applications—who still enjoys being close to the technology but excels at strategic thinking. Essential Experience
Deep Microsoft Expertise:
Proven experience architecting solutions within
Business Central
and the
Power Platform . Strategic Thinking:
Ability to look at the "big picture" of how different applications (CRM, ERP, Field Service) talk to one another. Stakeholder Mastery:
You can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff and influence senior leadership. Leadership:
Previous experience in
line management
is essential; you know how to get the best out of a technical team. Requirement Gathering:
A disciplined approach to business analysis and documentation. Technical Skills Required
ERP:
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or other CRM Solutions Low-Code/No-Code:
Expert-level knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate. Data:
High proficiency in Power BI for reporting and dashboard creation. Integration:
