Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse operations in Austin, Texas. This role is crucial for ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. You will be the first point of contact for many inbound shipments, and your accuracy directly impacts our logistics chain. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses good communication skills. This position requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and handling packages, which may involve lifting. Safety is a top priority in our facility; comprehensive training on safe receiving practices, the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and proper lifting techniques will be provided. Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from carriers.
  • Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies against shipping documents.
  • Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
  • Sort and stage received items for further processing or stocking.
  • Communicate any issues or discrepancies to supervisors and relevant departments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Operate manual pallet jacks and other receiving equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
  • Assist with inventory counts and verification as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
  • Ability to perform lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Understanding of basic inventory control principles.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Familiarity with scanning devices and basic computer skills.
