If you are a skilled Senior Engineer (Level 3), we have a spot for you. In this exciting and challenging role, you will serve as a senior escalation point for complex IT issues and projects across multiple client environments. This role demands strong technical acumen, the ability to lead infrastructure deployments, and advanced troubleshooting expertise. You will collaborate closely with Level 1 and 2 technicians, providing mentorship, documentation, and direct client support when necessary. The person in this position must be able to work remotely and must be able to go on-site to support the clients in the Greater MD/DC/VA (Columbia, MD to Fairfax, VA) area as needed. Travel mileage is reimbursed.
Summary of duties and responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Provide expert-level support for client environments including on-premises and cloud infrastructure, acting as final escalation for L1 and L2 support teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain server, network, and storage infrastructure (on-premises and cloud).
- Monitor, secure, and optimize infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and networking components.
- Resolve high-impact and complex technical issues involving hardware, software, and networking across varied client environments.
- Maintain and improve technical documentation, SOPs, and internal knowledge base entries.
- Provide leadership in change management, patch management, and incident response planning.
- Mentor junior technicians and assist in their development through coaching and training.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and on-call rotations as needed.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications):
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT support, with at least 2 years at a senior or L3 level within an MSP or similar environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server (2016–2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, and Azure AD.
- Strong networking expertise: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, VPN, wireless networks, and firewall management (FortiGate & Meraki preferred).
- Proficiency with storage arrays, backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Datto), and monitoring systems
- Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and supporting infrastructure solutions in virtualized (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

- Certifications Fortinet, Microsoft, Cisco.
- Knowledge working for an MSP with remote monitoring and management tools.
- Experience in the design and implementation of IT solutions to fit the client needs.
- Experience in Project Management & Deployments.
