SUMMARY
The IT Business Analyst and Programmer serves as a strategic partner between business units and the IT department, ensuring that technology solutions effectively support organizational goals and operations. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills to evaluate business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement system and process enhancements. The IT Business Analyst is a collaborative problem solver who can translate business needs into practical, high-value IT solutions that improve efficiency and drive results across multiple divisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Data analysis and reporting: Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide actionable information to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Coordinate with IT Operations and vendors to ensure system reliability, data integrity, and security compliance.
- Business alignment analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements for IT systems and processes. Conduct thorough analysis of existing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions to optimize operations. Identify opportunities for streamlining and automating processes through the effective use of technology.
- Project management: Participate in IT project execution, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, scope, and quality standards.
- Project implementation: Collaborate with the IT support team to ensure smooth deployment, adoption, and ongoing support of IT solutions. Adhere to all IT policies for deployment to ensure that security provisions have been met. Support testing, validation, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- User training and support: Coordinate the development of training materials and conduct user training sessions to ensure end-users are proficient in utilizing the systems effectively. Prepare user documentation, training materials, and conduct training sessions to support effective system adoption.
- Technology evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends. Evaluate new IT solutions, tools, and methodologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitiveness that are aligned with business strategy.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring clear understanding of requirements, priorities, and desired outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, business rules, and process documentation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Hands-on SQL experience in a production environment and database management skills (required)
- Must have ability to write advanced queries for reports, stored procedures, and jobs.
- Minimum 1–3 years ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor Visual, or similar) (required)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business analytics, or a related field (preferred)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, or related business processes.
- Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, requirements gathering, and process modeling.
- Experience with enterprise software applications, ERP systems, cost accounting, and/or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to extract insights and present findings to stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience utilizing SQL for report development and data analytics
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently lift and/or move up IT equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move equipment up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
