01/26/2026 - Performs and oversees inspection, maintenance, and repair of school buildings, structures, systems, and furnishings.
- Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, masonry, and general repairs.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing facilities, including water, gas, oil, and sewage lines.
- Performs construction, repair, and finishing of structures, fixtures, and furnishings to maintain safe and functional learning environments.
- Operates woodworking equipment, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance machinery safely and effectively.
- performs and coordinates seasonal grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weed control, planting, leaf removal, and snow and ice removal.
- Ensures walkways, parking areas, playgrounds, and outdoor facilities are safe, accessible, and properly maintained year-round.
- Maintains basic inventory records and reports supply, equipment, and repair needs to the Superintendent or designee.
- Manage and recommend budget and finance decisions.
- Provides day-to-day direction and oversight to a part-time Maintenance Worker.
- Assigns tasks, coordinates schedules, and prioritizes work orders to ensure timely completion of maintenance needs.
- Balances supervisory responsibilities with hands-on completion of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Monitors work quality and ensures tasks are completed in accordance with safety standards and division expectations.
- Complies with and enforces all safety rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Promotes safe work habits and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Responds to emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours calls, inclement weather events, and urgent facility issues, as required.
- Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Communicates effectively within the established chain of command regarding maintenance needs, progress, and concerns.
- Works collaboratively with school administrators, division leadership, and staff to support daily operations and special events.
- Promotes a respectful, professional work environment and positive interactions with staff, students, and the community.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or other appropriate administrator.

Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all school division facilities, grounds, and related systems. As the lead and primary full-time maintenance staff member, this position combines supervisory, operational, and hands-on responsibilities to ensure that buildings, furnishings, and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained in support of instructional programs and school operations. The Maintenance Supervisor works collaboratively with custodial and maintenance employees, prioritizes and completes work orders, responds to emergencies, and ensures compliance with safety standards, regulations, and division policies.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required)
High school diploma or equivalent required and one to three years of general maintenance experience preferred; basic competencies in reading, math, oral, and written communication;
physical strength, dexterity, ability, and desire to complete required duties;
knowledge of common practices, tools, and terminology of general maintenance.
Certifications: Electrical and/or HVAC � preferred
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to operate equipment; see and read printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift 50 pounds; to bend, stoop and reach overhead.
