Trailer Mechanic

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trailer repair and preventative maintenance, with the ability to diagnose issues accurately and perform necessary repairs efficiently. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance of our fleet of tractor trailers, vac tankers, roll-off trailers and frameless dump trailers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections in compliance for safety and DOT regulations.
• Repair or replace trailer components including: Brakes, ABS, Electrical/Lighting, Suspension, Tires, Air Systems, Hydraulic Coolers, Vacuum Pumps
• Perform minor welding and hydraulic repairs.
• Perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs/maintenance performed.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred.
• Experience with trailer repairs.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Air Brake system and wheel end knowledge.
• Ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
