Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Aide to join our healthcare team during the Day Shift. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing safe and effective medication administration and patient care within assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with residents and patients, supporting their health and well-being through dedicated caregiving and medical assistance. Prior experience in healthcare environments such as hospitals, senior care facilities, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly valued. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate medical documentation while delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient responses, and medication effects
- Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding as needed
- Maintain detailed and compliant medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, hospice, or behavioral challenges
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff or supervisors
- Ensure medication storage complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, tube feeding, or other treatments under supervision
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working with seniors and individuals with complex health needs
- Ability to work effectively during the Day Shift in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Pay: $8.50 - $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
