Fairview is looking for a Temporary Nursing Assistant at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN This position is 36 hours per two weeks on the night shift, for 12 hour shifts, every third weekend. This temporary nursing assistant position goes until July 31st, 2026.

About this Unit:The 4th Floor Ortho Spine unit at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital is a 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit specializing in total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and orthopedic recovery, with additional exposure to diverse medical diagnoses. This unit offers a healthy, team-oriented environment supported by strong leadership and collaborative care teams including RNs, Nursing Assistants, and Nursing Station Technicians. With telemetry capabilities and a focus on both clinical excellence and professional development, it's an ideal setting for those passionate about delivering high-quality care in a dynamic and supportive atmosphere.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse.
Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include:
- Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding,
- Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams,
- Oral hygiene,
- Specimen collection/testing,
- Position/ambulating,
- Changing linens,
- Promptly answers call lights.
Assists the nurse in monitoring patient condition.
- Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation.
- Places patient on/off monitors or equipment.
- Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner.
Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients.
- Orients patient and their family to the environment.
- Assures the patient's belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission,
