Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for tracking stock levels, conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of inventory management principles within a logistics environment. Your work will ensure that our operations run smoothly, preventing stockouts and overstock situations. This is a key position that directly impacts our efficiency and profitability. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor stock levels and report on slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and other departments to ensure seamless inventory flow.
  • Manage the put-away process, ensuring items are stored in their designated locations.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist in the training of new team members on inventory procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and other inventory management tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret inventory data and generate reports.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including occasional lifting.
