Our Houston, Texas facility is looking for an experienced Warehouse Coordinator to manage daily warehouse operations. This pivotal role ensures the smooth flow of inventory, supervises warehouse staff, and optimizes workflow for maximum efficiency in our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for coordinating the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations. This includes the mandated use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all personnel. Your responsibilities will encompass scheduling and assigning tasks to warehouse associates, monitoring productivity, and implementing process improvements. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this position, as you will interact with various departments, suppliers, and transportation providers. The ability to handle complex logistical challenges and maintain accurate records is critical. We expect candidates to be proactive in identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards, promoting a culture of safety throughout the warehouse. This role involves oversight of operations that require significant physical activity, including lifting and moving materials, so a good understanding of physical demands is necessary. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of daily warehouse operations, including receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Manage and train warehouse staff to optimize performance and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement and enforce strict safety standards, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain inventory integrity and accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Coordinate with transportation to ensure timely and efficient shipment of goods.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and workflows.
- Monitor operational costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and company regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Coordinator or similar role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management software and practices.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and experience implementing safety programs, including PPE mandates.
- Ability to handle lifting of goods up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced logistics environment.
