We are seeking a detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items for customer orders and efficiently packing them for shipment. Your precision and speed are vital to ensuring our customers receive the correct products in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order specifications, using pick lists or scanning devices.
- Verify the accuracy of picked items and quantities before proceeding to the packing stage.
- Pack picked items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, using correct packaging materials.
- Ensure that all packages are properly labeled and ready for shipment according to carrier requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and contribute to the overall tidiness of the packing and shipping areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy standards for picking and packing.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and other general warehouse duties as needed.
- Communicate any issues, such as damaged items or inventory discrepancies, to supervisors promptly.
- Support the broader logistics team in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the warehouse.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker, Packer, or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand order tickets and product labels accurately.
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capability of lifting items weighing up to 40-50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with scanning technology is a plus.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, such as safety shoes and vests.
