Are you ready for an active role as an Order Picker in Richmond, Virginia? As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately locating and retrieving specific items from warehouse shelves according to customer orders. This is a crucial step in our logistics process, directly impacting customer satisfaction. You'll utilize scanning devices and order lists to navigate the warehouse efficiently. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace safety; you will be provided with training on all safety procedures and are expected to consistently use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves significant walking, reaching, and frequent lifting of items, so physical stamina and the ability to handle products of various weights are essential. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, have a good eye for detail, and can work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Experience with RF scanners or warehouse picking is a plus, but comprehensive training will be provided. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret order pick lists or scan product barcodes
- Locate and retrieve correct items from designated warehouse locations
- Verify accuracy of picked items against order details
- Place picked items in appropriate containers or on carts for transport
- Assist with organizing picked orders for packing or staging
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure a safe work environment
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE
- Report any issues or discrepancies encountered during picking
