Position Overview
As an Automation Engineer in our client's Global Robotics Program, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing automation systems that streamline manufacturing, laboratory, and distribution processes globally. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, develop robotics solutions, and ensure integration within highly regulated (GxP) environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement automated and robotic solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratory workflows, and warehouse operations.
Partner with global stakeholders, including Manufacturing, Quality, IT, and Engineering teams, to drive automation projects from concept to deployment.
Integrate industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and collaborative robots (e.g., UR, Omron) with PLC, SCADA, and MES systems.
Develop and maintain control system software, including ladder logic, structured text, and HMI/SCADA interfaces.
Apply data analytics and digital twin simulations to optimize robotic performance and system throughput.
Ensure compliance with GMP/GxP regulations in all automation deployments.
Participate in risk assessments, validation planning, and execution (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new and existing systems.
Troubleshoot and support deployed automation systems, providing training to local engineering and operations teams.
Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in robotics and industrial automation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience in industrial automation or robotics engineering.
Hands-on experience with robotic programming (e.g., FANUC, ABB, UR) and integration.
Familiarity with PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC-UA).
Experience working in regulated environments (GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing.
Knowledge of Python, ROS, or similar programming frameworks for custom automation solutions.
Exposure to vision systems, AI/machine learning integration, or mobile robotics (AMRs/AGVs).
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certifications.
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, PMP).

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
