Jones & Sons is looking to hire for a position as Inside Sales / Dispatcher at our Washington, Indiana location. Started in 1971, we are a family owned and operated business with locations in Bloomfield, Clinton, Linton, Terre Haute, Vincennes and Washington, IN. Our core activities include Ready-Mixed Concrete, Block, Brick, Precast Concrete, and Aggregates servicing Southwest Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with order entry, customer inquiries, and walk-in sales at the front desk
  • Identify customer needs and ask clarifying questions
  • Handle a large volume of incoming and outbound calls to facilitate customer needs
  • Assist with office paperwork and keeping showroom organized
  • Schedule and dispatch dump trucks and ready-mix concrete trucks to job sites in an efficient and timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, plant personnel, and customers to ensure accurate deliveries and resolve any issues as they arise
  • Monitor truck locations and delivery progress throughout the day
  • Maintain accurate records of delivery tickets, schedules, and customer orders
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service in person and over the phone
  • Maintain professionalism and composure under stressful conditions
  • Support other office and dispatch functions as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in dispatching trucks or logistics preferred
  • Knowledge of the concrete, masonry, or aggregates industry is a plus
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with computers, scheduling software, and general office systems
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use office equipment for extended period
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities throughout the workday
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug test and pre-employment background check
