About

Position Summary: Windows Server environment management and support – mixture of virtual and physical servers. VMware environment support and monitoring. Internal LAN support, monitoring and maintenance – consisting of HPE/Aruba Edge/Cisco Core switches. Support and monitoring of a Veeam Backup Solution. On-premise Active Directory administration. Support of approximately 200 UK based users – office and home based. Support of approximately 300 UK based computers. Support and maintenance of on-site Multifunction Printers (MFPs). Support and management of a mobile device fleet. Support of software including O365 Apps, SolidWorks and Corporate security tools. Ensure all IT equipment onsite is protected and in compliance with Corporate IT requirements. Ensure Corporate IT policies, procedures and financial SOX requirements are maintained and complied with. Procure new IT equipment from approved suppliers. Liaise with Corporate IT for support with systems under their supervision (Azure/O365/Exchange/Intune). Key Responsibilities: Lead/support IT infrastructure projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems within designated timeframes. Ensure security and integrity of data and network access. Identify problematic systems and areas within the business and implement strategic solutions to bring systems into compliance. Monitor performance of IT systems and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure and architecture to increase performance while limiting downtime. Analyse business IT infrastructure requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop solutions for IT needs. Requirements for Consideration: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 2-3 years of experience working in IT operations. Experience of successfully managing and/or supporting IT infrastructure projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies. Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritise. Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
