Job Overview
CNC Lathe Programmer with experience on Haas Lathes. You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components that meet our exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Translate technical blueprints and CAD models into precise machine instructions.
- Machine Setup: Determine the optimal sequence of operations, select appropriate cutting tools, and establish work holding solutions like chucks or collets.
- Optimization: Calculate and adjust spindle speeds, feed rates, and toolpaths to maximize material removal while ensuring tool longevity and part quality.
- Troubleshooting: Debug programs for errors, analyze machine malfunctions, and perform test runs to prevent tool collisions or part defects.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished components using precision tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure they meet strict dimensional tolerances.
- Documentation: Create detailed setup sheets and tool lists for machine operators to follow during production.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in G-code, and CAM software.
- Blueprints & GD&T: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Machining Knowledge: Expertise in machine shop processes, tool selection, and the properties of various materials.
- Mathematics: Practical knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry for calculating dimensions and angles.
- Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 3–5 years of machining and programming experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
