JOB DESCRIPTION:


Responsible for maintaining high levels of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen areas of our Casino. You will perform a variety of tasks designed to ensure that guests receive clean and spotless China, silverware and glassware and the culinary team clean kitchen equipment.  The duties you perform are essential to the success of our culinary team.

  • Breakdown, load, unload, catches, and properly sorts all dishes, glassware, and flatware as it is brought to the dish area.
  • Wash, sort, and store pots in their proper location on shelves, larger items on the bottom shelves.
  • Loads dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulates the output of detergents and chemicals to the dishwashing machine by monitoring and adjusting controls.
  • Wash baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards.
  • Sweep and mop all floors and wash all floor mats.
  • Separate and remove trash, garbage and place in designated containers and steam cleans and hoses out garbage cans.
  • Polish silver, copper and brass in all areas, as needed.
  • Regular transport of equipment such as hot and cold box, speed racks, push carts from hallways to deliver to banquet room.
  • Unloads clean dishes from racks after being processed through dish machine, inspects for cleanliness, and carefully stacks in specified carts and shelves.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • Picks up trash in kitchen and loading dock area.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant directed by the manager or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Required:

  • Ability to be efficient, detail-oriented, flexible, and fast.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of basic kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
