We are seeking a talented and competitive Emergency Vehicle Body Technician that thrives in providing quality customer service and solutions. This is an hourly position with the potential to earn additional hourly incentive pay.

SUMMARY: The Service Technician performs skilled work in maintaining automotive, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, to include all Fire Division and Rescue (EMS) Division vehicles, including small gas engines and other associated equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
- Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
- Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
- Fills cavities and dents with body filler to attain smooth surface.
- Sands and wet sands body surfaces to achieve a paint or primer ready surface.
- Buffs and/or polishes truck surfaces to create the desired finished product.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain body and paint equipment.
- Raise trucks and heavy parts, or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
- Works as both a part of a team and individually, as assigned.
- Maintains a neat and safe workspace.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, as required.
- Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variances in standardized situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Three (3) + years of experience in automotive body repair.
- Some automotive painting experience is preferred, but not required. Willingness for on the job training in automotive painting is required.
- Large truck or emergency vehicle experience is a plus, but not required.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of up-to-date methods of automotive body repair.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
