Athletic Trainer

The Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for a temporary/PRN position with the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC in Chattanooga, TN. The Athletic Trainer will provide proper care and treatment for the players of the Chattanooga Red Wolves, a USL League One professional US Soccer team. The athletic trainer will work to identify, treat, and prevent injuries alongside medical staff, team staff, and athletic officials to provide comprehensive services. As an extension of the Center for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics within the community, the athletic trainer employed in this outreach position is also responsible for assisting with marketing athletic training services and assisting in various areas of our Sports Medicine Outreach Program.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ability to properly assess, treat, and implement strategies to prevent athletic injuries.
• Ability to develop, evaluate, and revise treatment plans based on changes in patient status and response to treatment as well as ability to properly instruct and demonstrate procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of players, athletic officials, colleagues, and team administration to provide comprehensive services.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide emotional reassurance and guidance to athletes, coaches, team administration, league officials and CSMO.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• NPI Number
• Athletic Training Licensure (or eligibility) in the State of Tennessee and Georgia
• BOC Certification
• Bachelor's degree (required)
• Master's degree (preferred)
• 1 year experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer (preferred)
• CPR/AED Certification from the American Heart Association

Work Location:

• Main location: Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (Chattanooga, TN)
• Must be flexible to fill in at other locations if/when needed.
