Delivery Driver Helper

Duties

• Assist the delivery driver in loading and unloading goods from box trucks or commercial vehicles using manual lifting techniques and equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
• Help load products onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper placement for safe transport.
• Support route driving by helping to organize deliveries efficiently and accurately following assigned routes.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with recipients during deliveries, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Move heavy items safely, adhering to proper lifting procedures to prevent injury.
• Collaborate with the driver to verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and complete delivery documentation accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck interior and work area to promote safety and efficiency.

Experience

• Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with loading/unloading heavy items is preferred.
• Experience in delivery driving or courier services is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of driving a box truck or similar commercial vehicle is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting and physical moving tasks safely.
• Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and basic vehicle operation including manual transmission is beneficial.
• Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients and team members.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
