Duties
- Assist the delivery driver in loading and unloading goods from box trucks or commercial vehicles using manual lifting techniques and equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
- Help load products onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper placement for safe transport.
- Support route driving by helping to organize deliveries efficiently and accurately following assigned routes.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with recipients during deliveries, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Move heavy items safely, adhering to proper lifting procedures to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with the driver to verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck interior and work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with loading/unloading heavy items is preferred.
- Experience in delivery driving or courier services is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of driving a box truck or similar commercial vehicle is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting and physical moving tasks safely.
- Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and basic vehicle operation including manual transmission is beneficial.
- Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
