We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Diagnostic Technologist to join our team and support physicians with accurate, timely diagnostic imaging.
Position Overview
The Diagnostic Technologist is responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced technology to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role ensures high standards of image quality, patient safety, and comfort while adhering to regulatory and hospital guidelines. The Diagnostic Technologist works collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals and reports directly to the Radiology Director.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, and C-arm imaging.
Accurately capture, review, and document diagnostic images and test data to support clinical decision-making.
Prepare and educate patients on imaging procedures, addressing questions and ensuring understanding.
Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic results while prioritizing comfort and safety.
Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond promptly to any concerns or complications.
Operate, adjust, and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment; report equipment issues or malfunctions as needed.
Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to ensure accurate interpretation and follow-up of diagnostic results.
Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential documentation in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and all state, federal, and accreditation standards
Qualifications
Education
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Radiology Technology or completion of an approved Radiology program required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) Radiology License required
Current ARRT and/or CRT certification required
BLS for Healthcare Providers required
Eligibility or registry in MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or DEXA preferred
For Ultrasound: ARDMS or ARRT registry eligibility required (registry within 1 year of hire)
Experience
Prior experience working with diagnostic imaging equipment preferred
Skills & Abilities
Strong technical proficiency with diagnostic imaging equipment
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to image quality and accuracy
Strong communication and patient-care skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements related to diagnostic imaging
