As a Recreation staff member, you'll help students stay active, develop leadership skills, and experience a fun, safe, and structured recreational environment while supporting their growth and wellness.
The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas:
Electrical Wiring
Carpentry
Building Construction Technology
Culinary Arts
Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging
We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

Position SummaryResponsible for working with the Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

Responsibilities
Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures; ensures no manipulation of student data
Assists with supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program
Coordinates recreation activities with CPP and Social Development, including evening programming
Coordinates recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources
Ensures safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines
Documents student participation and accountability during recreation activities
Maintains inventory of equipment and materials; recommends purchases; performs repairs as needed
Maintains appearance, condition, and organization of recreation department facilities
May oversee student recreation aide program
Produces quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner
Maintains personal attendance, accountability, and productivity standards
Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet goals and deadlines
Applies job knowledge to effectively complete responsibilities; maintains necessary skills
Mentors, monitors, and models the Career Success Standards
Provides high-quality supervision; positively influences student behavior; holds students accountable
Provides operational support for Center operations to ensure quality programs and services
Exchanges ideas clearly, contributes meaningfully, and provides timely information to DOL/Company
Identifies problems, analyzes causes, evaluates solutions, and ensures corrective actions
Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services
Accepts direction and supervision from Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including temporary assignments
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth
Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements
CDL preferred
Physical requirements:
Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching
Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance
