About The Role
As a data scientist at Nelo, you will be responsible for optimizing the overall performance of our credit and marketplace products. Specifically, you will

  • Develop machine learning and causality models upon which Nelo will make underwriting and portfolio management decisions
  • Create credit, personalization, ranking, and pricing algorithms
  • Design and analyze continuous experiments to provide insights and guide product and algorithm decisions
  • Lead machine learning infrastructure projects, include machine learning operations and observability

This role requires a deep knowledge of machine learning and statistics. Cross-functional collaboration is also needed.

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and clarity of thought. You should be a great communicator and have the ability to drive impact based on your analyses.

This role is in-office in New York City.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of data science experience
  • Deep understanding of classification models, forecasting models and ML techniques
  • Deep understanding of causal inference, experiment design and measurements
  • Deep understanding of optimization, including familiarity with formulating and solving constrained optimization problems
  • Advanced with SQL and Python
