(2 CHEFS NEEDED FOR SMALL TREATMENT CENTER IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD)

Position Summary

The Best Treatment Center - Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious, balanced meals for approximately 30 residential patients in a substance abuse treatment setting. This role supports patient recovery by providing consistent, healthy meals that meet dietary guidelines, special dietary needs, and program standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMeal Planning & Preparation

  • Plan and prepare three daily meals and scheduled snacks for approximately 30 patients
  • Execute balanced, nutritious menus that support physical and mental wellness in recovery
  • Accommodate special dietary needs (medical diets, allergies, religious preferences, vegetarian/vegan options as applicable)
  • Ensure meals are served on schedule and in appropriate portions

Kitchen Operations & Food Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with local and state health regulations
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature control standards
  • Ensure compliance with ServSafe, Department of Health, and facility policies
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas

Inventory & Ordering

  • Monitor food inventory and rotate stock using FIFO practices
  • Prepare grocery lists and assist with food ordering and budgeting
  • Minimize food waste while maintaining quality and portion control

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate with clinical, nursing, and program staff regarding patient dietary needs or restrictions
  • Maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries with patients at all times
  • Support a calm, respectful, and recovery-focused environment

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain required kitchen logs, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and menus
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
  • Adhere to all facility policies, HIPAA standards, and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a chef, cook, or dietary staff in healthcare, residential treatment, or similar setting preferred
  • Knowledge of nutritional needs, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to prepare meals for groups of 30 or more
  • ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing as required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 50 per week
